Valentina Sforzini

My name is Valentina Sforzini, I am a painter.
Painting is my magnificent obsession: a medium I approach every day with dedication and respect, in the constant pursuit of honest, authentic, and essential practice. Painting, for me, means building a body of work true to my essence, rooted in personal experience and a direct relationship with the subject. I love painting from life, because that's where the encounter arises, and it's from that encounter that my exploration of the human condition takes shape.

I was born in Mantua in 1985, the city where I live and pursue my artistic practice and teaching. Since childhood, I have combined studio work with chalk drawing in public spaces: a practice that, starting with the Madonnari di Grazie di Curtatone competition—where I won the gold medal in 2000—has led me to participate in street art festivals and events in numerous countries, from Europe to the United States. For over twenty-five years, art practiced in shared spaces has brought me into direct contact with people, teaching me to understand artistic work as presence, listening, and connection.

At the same time, my studies in architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan refined my relationship with space, structure, and formal rigor, elements that continue to interact with my painting. Today, my research moves between study, teaching, and reflection on the meaning of making art: a space of knowledge and continuous transformation, where experience, discipline, and sensitivity coexist without hierarchies.
