Atelier Stories
Every atelier tells a story, shaped by gestures, materials, and inspiration. With Atelier Stories, CMP steps into the spaces where art is born, nurtured, and transformed. Our tools accompany artists through the most authentic moments of creation—where every mark is a beginning, and every stroke already tells a story.
Martina Zena
I was born and raised in Isola di Pianura, in the heart of the Emilia Romagna region. Today I live and work in Milan, but the landscape I hold within me still retains the slow pace of the countryside and the open horizons of my homeland. After a classical studies formation, I trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where I specialized in painting and graphic design. A key step in my journey was my residency at Fabrica, Benetton's research center in Treviso: an intense and international experience that gave me the opportunity to experiment, grow, and above all, engage with a multidisciplinary creative team.
I consider myself creatively hybrid. The media I use to create my works include illustration, painting, performance, design, ceramics, and graphic design. I'm drawn to gesture, sound, volcanic islands, music, and materials. My work also comes to life through the body, with movement and improvisation. In recent years, I've tried to bring all these languages together into a more intimate and coherent narrative. My recent works include all the active ingredients of my research so far and increasingly reveal the horizons that compose my world: real and interior landscapes, places of memory and imagination.
